Chez Jallot is a French Country manor house in the heart of la Creuse about halfway between Bourganeuf and Aubusson, in the department of la Creuse in the Limousin. If you are looking for a holiday, a romantic break or just accommodation for a short break then this Chambres d'hote or B&B or Bed and Breakfast could be just the place for you. The house is full of history, having been used by the French Resistance during WW2 and was burned down by German army, and then bought by Deni & Doug, 60 years later as a challenging restoration project. This work was shown on Channel 4 in the well know programme Grand Designs.

Chez Jallot is probably best known as 'The Creuse House' from Channel 4's Grand Designs Abroad series. The house had been derelict for 60 years having been burned down at the end of WWII, but now after nearly 4 years hard work it has been transformed in to a luxurious Chambres d'hôte.

Every care has been taken to ensure that your stay here will be both comfortable and memorable. All rooms have en-suite facilities and in our larger rooms you can enjoy a choice of both shower and bath.

Being built of granite, Chez Jallot is a cool haven in the summer heat and for those winter days we have installed full central heating and a woodburner in the lounge. So if you need to cool off after sunning yourself at Lake Vassiviere or warming up after a stroll through the woods in autumn, you will always have a welcoming home to return to.

Evening meals are taken, either in the spacious dining room or, weather permitting, outside in the garden at the rear of the house. We offer a four course meal, with wine and tea or coffee to follow.

Should you feel guilty about over eating whilst here, you can work off some excess calories in the gym, or enjoy some exercise in the open air and explore the countryside at the same time.

Take a look at the rooms under the 'Accommodation' tab above or click on the main picture on this page to go the 'Photo Gallery' to see more of the house and the immediate surrounding area.

We hope to see you soon.
