Chambres & tables d'hote - Gites

Aubusson room

This delightful room is on the first floor, at the front of the house. The traditional furniture was locally sourced and dates from around 1900, with hand carved details on the bed and armoire. The en-suite bathroom has a double sized whirlpool bath to massage and revive, a wash basin and WC, plus a heated towel rail and separate heater to ensure that bath time will leave you relaxed and refreshed ready to enjoy an evening meal around the table with your hosts and other guests.

Room rates are for two people and include a generous breakfast. Evening meals are available most nights, though Doug and Deni do have a night or two off each week. On offer is a four course meal, taken with your hosts and other guests. Food is sourced locally where possible, with a strong preference for organically produced fruit and vegetables (often from the garden) and meats and eggs that come from free range stock.

If you choose to eat with your hosts, an aperitif will be waiting for you in the gardens on warm summer evenings (or in the lounge if it is cooler), with the appetising fragrances of the evenings’ meal escaping now and then as Deni & Doug work to produce high standard platters of local produce and French delights.

A meal costs 35 euros per person and includes aperitif, four courses, all wines, tea/coffee. Meals must be booked in advance, by the end of breakfast at the latest, or prior to arrival on the first night. There is a good choice of restaurants within 30 minutes drive (or less), or guests may also use the BBQ facilities and bring back a picnic.
