Aubusson and Forest Rooms

Two cosy rooms, each one about 4m x 4m plus ensuite. The Aubusson room has a hydro spa bath and modern fittings, while the Forest room has a good sized walk-in shower.

Like all our rooms, they each have their own character and offer comfortable and pleasant accommodation for your stay.

We had a visit from a lady just after we had finished decorating the Aubusson room. She told us that her mother used to come to Chez Jallot as a child, back in the late 1800's. This bedroom suite, her mother's marriage bed and Armoire, were in store in Limoges, and we were invited to collect them. Madame felt that her mother would be pleased that the furniture was back where she had happy times.

Hence the Creusoir furniture in this room dates from around 1900 and really does seem at home here.

The door from this room opens onto the landing, right alongside the French doors leading out to the balcony. So if you want to enjoy the early morning sunrise in the fresh air, or just take in the views, the location couldn't be better.

The oak and marble wash stand makes ideal dressing table and the antique lamp contrasts well with the colour of the paintwork. This room was named after the wall colour, which is Aubusson Incardine and also happens to be the name of a nearby town, famous for its tapestries.

A little bit space-age with the bathroom, but the contrast is not out of place. Porcelain in a pearlescent white matches the simple dairy-cream tiles. To match the fittings we have put in a narrow line of pearlescent tiles which add the finishing touch

The bath is huge, just right for two people to relax in and it is even possible to maintain a comfortable temperature without topping up the water. So light the candles, switch off the lights, open a bottle of wine and enjoy.

The Forest room is probably our favourite, not the largest but it just seems to have everything you need without being over the top. The furniture dates from the 1930's and again was purchased from local Brocantes.

The drapes over the bed add a romantic touch to the setting of the bed. This room has a spacious feel and gets the afternoon and evening sun.

With it's soft green walls and huge window, this room well lit, but we thought this photograph was quite atmospheric and illustrated the feel of the room. Wake up in the morning and enjoy the views of the hills and forest without leaving the comfort of your bed.

If you have a young child, this room is large enough to comfortably take a cot or single bed and although it does not have the space of our family suite will not feel at all cramped.

A simple bathroom but with beautiful mosaic tiles. There is a walk in shower with a wonderful curved glass screen with a free standing hand basin. Although comparatively small by Chez Jallot standards, this ensuite room has a feeling of quality.

A big heated towel rail and separate room heater mean that shower time is a leisurely and enjoyable experience. Our pure, local water is wonderfully soft and the water pressure ensures an invigorating shower.
