This picture is not about the red flowers but one of the local curiosities. To the right you should see a Hummingbird Moth. They do appear in the UK but we had never seen one until we came to Chez Jallot. |

Sunshine and shade, just what you need on a hot day. The sun stays in the front garden until well into the afternoon so the shade from the Hornbeam over the small garden table is much appreciated. The stone table to the left has now been leveled but the old beehive is still there. |

The famous Limousin cattle. They may look intimidating with their long horns but in fact they are most gentle. The herd is one big family and includes the bull who stays with the cows all year round. Calves are inquisitive but they are usually too busy feeding to notice us |

Looking across the front of the house into our field. We have started to clear this but there is oak, broom and silver birch all struggling to find enough light to grow. With the trees thinned out we will have a parkland landscape and plenty of wood to burn for the next 3-4 years |
|
An Autumn sunrise seen from the gym window. The closest trees are oak and the ones lining the distant hills are mainly pine. In between the two are some wonderful old beech woods. Chez Jallot is at an altitude of 512 metres, the distant hills go up to about 750 metres |
