The Creuse is a very popular walking area for both French and international walking enthusiasts alike due to the rugged countryside, thick forests and magnificent scenery it offers and thus is a great area for you to enjoy a walking holiday. The forests are rich with many different flora and fauna. There are numerous species of birs of prey that inhabit the woodland and if you are lucky you might even get to see a wild boar.
From Chez Jallot’s doorstep you have access to kilometres of walking and running trails suitable for every level of fitness and if you want to get away from Chez Jallot, there are many more paths and tracks marked out across the countryside.
One of France’s long-distance footpaths, GR4, goes past Chez Jallot just 500 meters up the road and around Lake Vassivière is a complete web of paths to explore. We are happy to provide some recommendations and can loan maps of some of the paths, if requested. We even have a number of multi-day walking packages that may be of interest;
- Waterfalls, Moors & Peatlands
- Voie de Rocamadour
- A Taste of GR4
- Three Days Heading North or South (GR46)
Check out the Chez Jallot walking route database for details on some of the routes found in the area. Route cards and GPX files are available for download from the database.
